RINA 4.10 Client Upgrade pre-Installation instructions:

The FOSS RINA server upgrade is scheduled for this weekend March 27 – 28.  During the upgrade, you will be able to analyze samples and run diagnostics, but these data will not be synchronized to the RINA server until the upgrade is finished.    A little preparation will help you upgrade in minutes when the server is brought back on-line. 

In preparation for this upgrade, please do the following:

RINA 4.1 requires Microsoft .NET framework 3.5 sp1. 

1. Click Start -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove programs.  Scroll down the list for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1.
2. If this entry is not present, go to Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 sp1 download page.     Download and install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 sp1.

On Friday, turn off the RINA Client Component Background services.  This will prevent error messages from being displayed when the background service cannot find the server.  The service will turn on automatically after the upgrade.

1. On the lower right of your computer screen, right click on the RINA Client BGS icon  and select STOP, then Exit.

The RINA BGS icon will no longert be visible. 

Also on Friday, download the ISIscan 4.10 and RINA Client Components 4.10 from www.winisi.com and save them on the computer (Desktop is suggested).  The files are located in the Downloads, RINA section and will be available Friday afternoon European standard time.

Final installation instructions will follow on Friday.  The server upgrade will occur Saturday and Sunday March 27 – 28.
